Purpose of Fund: The Lutheran Schools Partnership created the Weber Fund as an endowment to encourage newly placed teachers to pursue the teaching profession and to relocate to the Northeast Indiana area. Thanks to a Lutheran-friendly culture dating back to the 1800’s, a conservative Christian tradition, and a low-cost of living, we joke that “once we get you here you will never leave.” To attract talented and dedicated church workers, the Fund’s goal will therefore be to help attract talent to the area and encourage lifelong employment and involvement in Lutheran education through finanancial awards. The fund is named after John Weber, the quintessential Lutheran school teacher, who’s earthly life came to an untimely end in the fall of 2021 from COVID-related complication after winning a battle with cancer.
