International Student Ministry encourages and equips God’s people for intentional Gospel ministry among international student communities.
Through our work:
- International scholars have support and community for university life.
- Strong, well-connected local international student ministry sites serve international students.
- New local international student ministry sites start in areas with international students.
- LCMS congregations and members grow in desiring to share God’s love with people of other cultures.
We partner with about 80 international student ministry sites affiliated with LCMS congregations or campus ministries. We offer an annual In-Depth Bible Seminar to about 15 international scholars and students from across the US to allow them to study God’s Word in an intensive time frame with other new believers or serious seekers. Our newsletter, the Doorstep, shares ideas between international student ministry sites that bring encouragement and growth.
ISM Inc. was founded in 1994 by Rev. Carl Selle and Rev. Bob Lange. ISM is led by a board of directors that includes pastors and lay people, site leaders, and professionals. Sue Hasselbring became ISM’s Catalyst in 2021.
